City of Fremont Trail Strategy

Zander Westbrook Design and TrailPeople worked together to lead this comprehensive, community-based trails strategy plan covering the historic, suburban, and commercial portions of Fremont. The plan is based on extensive engagement with the community and stakeholders via an online survey, interactive maps, and virtual workshops and focus groups. 

The project team inventoried, analyzed, and planned specific trail improvements focused on completing the City’s trail network for transportation and recreation. Zander Westbrook Design developed standards for new trails and associated amenities and the team prepared GIS maps and databases of existing and planned trails. Zander Design is developing detailed designs for trail projects city-wide, selection criteria for prioritizing projects, and estimates and guidelines for implementation, including operation and management requirements and costs.
