Celebrating 2 years of Zander Design

Sofia reviews Point Pinos construction plans with Tim during construction.

It’s Zander Design’s second birthday!

It's hard to believe, but it has been two years since I got Zander Design off the ground. Since the summer of 2020, it has been a whirlwind of activity. From weathering the global pandemic to learning the ropes of small business management to working in some of the most beautiful places in California, here are our top ten* achievements/projects:

  1. Great California Delta Trail Master Plan (with TrailPeople, completed!)

  2. Point Pinos Coastal Trail (+ Conference Presentation) (with TrailPeople, completed!)

  3. Napa Valley Vine Trail Study Update & ATP Cycle 6 Application (completed!)

  4. San Mateo County Coastal Trail Feasibility Study (underway!)

  5. Carrington Ranch Master Plan (with WRA, underway!)

  6. City of Fremont Trail Strategy Plan (with TrailPeople, completed!)

  7. Dumbarton Bridge to Quarry Lakes Trail (with Alta, underway!)

  8. Los Altos Hills Pathways (completed!)

  9. Dias Ridge Trail Chicane (completed!)

  10. Hired Liz Westbrook and Whitney Ericson

  11. *BONUS: DBE, SB, WOSB, and SLEB certified

We can't wait to see what the next two years have in store. As always, you can visit our website for more information. Or reach out and let us know if you'd like to partner with us on a project!

Cheers,

Sofia

Remembering Randy Anderson

Many of you knew Randy through his work on trails throughout California. He died peacefully in late February, surrounded by loved ones, after living with ALS for a year.

We are honored to continue his legacy and the work he began at TrailPeople. From the completion of the Point Pinos Coastal Trail and the Delta Trail Master Plan, to the advancement of the Napa Valley Vine Trail, Randy's work will continue to inspire our projects for years to come.
